my top ten favorite songs from musicals

(note: not officially back from hiatus, but I have been writing up some posts. I’m hoping to be fully back in the next couple of weeks, depending on the path my mental health and stress levels take in that time. 🙂 thanks for being patient with me! <3)

As most of you probably know, I absolutely adore musicals. I have since I was little, and I’m pretty sure I always will. While I love a wide variety of songs from musicals, there are some that I will always come back to and listen on repeat over and over again, more so than others. So for today’s post, I thought I’d share some of my favorite songs from musicals with you! For simplicity’s sake, I’m not going to be counting favorites from Disney movies (unless they’re Disney Broadway musicals) (and even though I really want to!), but if you enjoy this post (or if I enjoy writing it), I’ll do a post with Disney songs and maybe my top ten favorite songs of all time! Let me know in the comments what you think about that. 😉

thoughts ~ a poem

how it can be such a good day

or at least, nothing out of the ordinary

and then you go to your room

and the emotions hit

and the tears come

for no reason at all

and then you calm

you sit down

you open the laptop

and suddenly, you see reminders of what used to be,

you see what things are like now,

and the tears come again,

as you’re filled with loneliness,

maybe even grief,

and the tiniest twinge of anger,

and you wonder

“why did we have to say goodbye?

was it me?

was it them?”

and then you push the emotions away

and lock your heart down,

go numb for the millionth time.

it works, you’re numb,

until you turn on the music,

and the tears come again,

and so on, so forth, again again again.

the pain will never go away.

on the other hand, there are the worries,

that won’t go away,

the worries that say

“are you sick? do you have the symptoms

of some horrible disease?”

“what if I make a mistake and I lose someone else?”

“what if I go and am a third wheel, like always?”

“what if I’m wasting my life?”

well, I suppose it doesn’t matter,

life lately ~ august 2021

Hey, friends!

So, I’m not back from my hiatus yet (at the rate things are going, it’s going to be at least a couple of weeks), but I did want to pop in and do an August recap, both for journaling/remembering purposes, and to update you all, especially if my hiatus lasts a lot longer. 🙂

what’s so bad about abortion, anyway? ~ promo post (that I really hope each and every one of you reads)

(disclaimer: I’m not back from hiatus yet, but this is a post that needs to published and one that is very important to me, so here I am.)

Hey, friends. Today I’ve got a very different kind of post for you.

I don’t usually talk about issues like abortion on this blog. Maybe I should. I’m a Christian and have some very strong, important views, but I’m not great at talking about them. I don’t like causing conflict, and that can make it hard to talk about things like this. Fortunately, I know someone who is very, very good at writing blog posts and spreading awareness on important topics.

burnt out: hiatus announcement

Hey, friends. I’ve really been hoping I wouldn’t have to write this post anytime soon, because I had been doing so good lately, but alas, here I am.

I’ve had a really good past couple of months mentally. This was a welcome surprise, and I’m so grateful. I didn’t feel tired, I had so much inspiration for blog posts and writing projects, my social skills improved, and it was great.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t usually last, and for the past couple of weeks, I’ve started to feel my energy putter out. There were a few emotional roller coasters and a ton of stress, and I guess that’s taking its toll. Which means that, unfortunately, I’m coming to you with a hiatus announcement.

The definition of the word hiatus is as follows: a pause or gap in a sequence, series, or process. Basically, I need to take a pause from the process of blogging, and probably from the process of writing as well.

How long of a hiatus, I don’t know. Maybe in a few days I’ll perk up and be back here like “so maybe I was a bit pre-mature in taking a hiatus”. Most likely, it will be a few weeks. But it could even be months. I really don’t know. As soon as I can manage it, I will be back.

I do have one very important post coming up on August 31st which I hope you will all take the time to read. And I’m still going to be reading the posts that show up in my WordPress reader and replying to comments. I just won’t be posting.

I’m hoping that I’ll be able to regain some inspiration soon so I can churn out several episodes of A Sunshine Club Summer to have ready for you when I return, but I really don’t know.

Thank you for all your support, and I hope I’ll be back sooner than I expect.

I love you all.

the Disney tag

Hello, friends! I’m back with another tag post for you. (I really like doing them, what can I say? XD)

This one, as I’m sure you can see, is a Disney tag! I found it randomly online, like I find most of the tags I do. XD Anyway, I hope you enjoy and that all these tags aren’t boring you to death. 😉 (Okay, I guess this is only the second one I’ve done recently, but still.)

8 ways to destress on busy days

Hello, friends!

I admit, I’ve been under a ton of stress lately. School has started, I’m trying to find a job (if you have any job-hunting tips, leave a comment! I’d love to hear them), and I’m trying to better myself in my last year of school. In light of the fact that I’ve been pretty stressed (and busy), I decided to compile a list of some of my favorite ways to destress on busy days. I know I’m not the only person in the world who gets stressed, so hopefully some of these ideas can help some of you!

Let’s get to it. 😀

my thoughts on marvel’s black widow (caution: lots of fangirling ahead)

Hello, friends! Ahhhh, I am so, so, so excited for this post. It’s been a little over a month since Black Widow released, and I’ve been thinking about making this post since I saw it on release day.

Before I get started, there are definitely going to be Marvel spoilers in this post, mostly related to Endgame, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and of course Black Widow. So if you haven’t seen Black Widow yet, and/or mind being spoiled for anything Marvel, read at your own risk.

Also, this post is probably the rambliest post I’ve ever written, so if you can’t handle rambles and screaming and fangirling, you should also read at your own risk.
